Foreclosure Q&A.
Answers to frequently asked questions..

What is foreclosure?
A foreclosure is a lawsuit.  It is the formal process a lender has to go through to take
possession of a home after there has been a default on a mortgage.

How will I know if a foreclosure has started?
Just like with any other lawsuit, the mortgage company has to give you notice.  When a
foreclosure starts, you will be served with Summons, usually by a sheriff.  However, if
the sheriff is unable to serve you, the mortgage company could also serve notice by
publication.  If you are uncertain as to whether a foreclosure has started, you should
consult with an attorney immediately to confirm.
